Phew...what a fun and busy day!!

Well, I sure had a blast yesterday during all the DSD festivities! Did you? Did you get a chance to pick up some new goodies? I got a chance to visit all my favorite stores and pick up a few things...now to just make the days last longer so I can actually find a time to scrap with them lol!

Getting ready for vacation

We leave in TWO days to go to Colorado...don't even get me started about why I haven't started packing yet!! lol! I am seriously overwhelmed with everything that needs to get done before we leave...so much so that I haven't started anything yet. I really need to get my butt in gear. And while we are talking about it, why am I sitting here updating my blog instead of making lists, washing laundry, packing, etc, etc, etc????? :)

It'll be Cait and Morgan's first time on a plane. I hope they do okay, well, I just hope that everything goes as good as can be expected from a 20 mo old and 3.5 yr old! Wish us luck! We'll be back by next weekend and hopefully I'll have some pictures to share.

Okay, so I know I haven't updated this blog in, like, FOREVER lol, but I have a good reason for that. :) I have been undergoing tests to find out what is going on with me and today I had surgery to have one of my lymph nodes taken out. It will be sent to pathology and I hope to know within about a week whether it is benign...or something more ominous. So, that is where I've been. I've been nervous and just not myself so designing and stuff has been on hold for a little while. I miss it so much!!! So, in celebration of having the surgery out of the way and because I'm actually feeling pretty darn good in spite of the surgery, I felt like giving away a little freebie! :) You will receive two grungy brush frames in .abr format (there are also .png files in the download for those that can't use brushes) and one vintage paper butterfly (with shadows included). How come today is so exciting??? :) I am like a kid in a candy store today...so many things to do and buy! :) My husband just doesn't get it at all!! My birthday is coming up this Monday and he wants to take me to see Spider Man 3 tonight...is it bad that I'd rather sit around and scrap and attend chats?? LOL!

My kids are sick, my husband is sick, and I am praying that I don't get it! Today, all three of them have Dr. appointments. Russ goes in first and then the girls later today. At first I thought it was just allergies, but last night it became apparent that everyone really was sick. Caitlin actually told me that she didn't feel well--this coming from a child who hates going to the Dr. and will act well so long as she doesn't have to go. I told her that we would go see Dr. Neena and that she would start getting better asap. She only had one question: "No shots, mom?" I assured her there would be no shots and she seemed okay about it. :)

So today I'll be passing out tissues, blankies, and pillows, and popping in DVDs of Disney movies, making soup and trying really hard to not breathe in any germs. Wish me luck lol!

On another note, I have received several creative team applications and I am floored by the talent! I have just sort of skimmed through some of the galleries and I haven't had a chance to look as much as I'd like but I am liking what a see! I am amazed by you all and I truly appreciate everyone that has applied so far. I will accept applications until May 7th and will have a final decision no later than May 8.

I scrapped!

So, yesterday I was sick with some kind of tummy bug (it has probably been years since I've been sick like that!) I just hope that the girls don't get it--so far so good!

On another note, I scrapped!!! Woohoo! I feel like I haven't had time at all lately to just relax and scrap and being sick gave me an excuse to do just that. So, here is my layout:

I'm in a reflective mood tonight. Today was a really good day...one of those lazy, totally indulgent days :) We started the morning off by sleeping in and letting the kids lay in our bed just so we could catch some extra zzzzs. That was so nice. Then, dh mowed the lawn and the girls and I decided on what to cook for brunch (I say brunch because it was clearly past our normal breakfast time!)

After a short conversation with my three year old, it was decided that chicken Donald's was on the menu. On any normal day, I'd have said let's cook some eggs or make some oatmeal, but today I thought--why not? Let's all hop in the car and get chicken Donald's (what my 3 year old calls McDonalds--can you guess what she likes from the McD? lol!)

Two chicken nugget happy meals and two happy kiddos later, we found out that pa-pa cut his finger while working and was at the ER. Since we were already near the hospital, we stopped in to see him. Fortunately, it was not serious, but it was serious enough for stitches and a shot of antibiotics.

Upon arriving home, it was time for everyone to take a nap, which of course means dh on the couch with remote in hand.

Instead of joining him, which was tempting, I worked on designing a bit. I had this idea in my head and once that happens, I usually just jump on it.

We thought about going out to the grandparents' farm to do a little fishing after the girls woke up from their naps, but instead we all laid around the living room and read books. Caitlin brought a huge stack for us to read, but I think we only made it to three because one book was read over and over and over and over loL!

After the book fest, Russ and Cait went to the grocery store (bless him!) I did not feel like going at all...I have been kind of feeling a bit under the weather the past couple of days. They also stopped by the bookstore and he bought Caitlin a new activity book--her new passion :) Since she can't read yet, we have to read her the directions...like, follow the maze to get the buried treasure...or circle all the hidden pictures, etc.

Oh, and I also told dh to grab some comfort food while he was out. You know how great comfort food is when you are not feeling well, right? Well, instead of coming back with stuff to make home made mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and other yummy southern foods like that, he comes back with 6 bags of chips, tons of little debbie cakes, and not one single food that could be considered a main course lol! I felt like I gained 10 pounds by just LOOKING at all the junk he brought home....of course, that didn't stop me from eating like 5 Ding Dongs ;)

I posted this and then had to come back and edit because I almost forgot...I have a little blog treat tonight! It is just one flower, but I thought it was fun! You get one flower with light shadows and one without the shadows (staple not included). Download Topsy Turvy

This weekend was extremely tiring. We actually got to DO something outside for once! It has been raining and raining and raining, but this past Saturday, the sun finally came out so we took the girls to poppy and grandma's house for a boat ride in the mini lake. It was a little paddle boat, but big enough to fit 4 grown adults and two kids, and Caitlin was so cute. She kept singing "row row row your boat" the whole time and she just had a blast. Morgan's favorite thing to do was to lean over the side (with poppy holding her tightly of course! :) and feel the water. Later that same day we had a barbecue with some friends at our house. Russ mowed the lawn (finally lol!!) and we all stayed outside enjoying the warmth for as long as we could. I know these days won't last long until it gets unbearably hot during the summer. I just love spring! ;)

Sometimes I hate blogger! I just lost my looooong winded post and you know what is so ironic about it?

The title was "moments of bliss" and I had talked about what a peaceful day today was turning out to be and that lead me list little moments in my life that I am thankful for (things like the first cup of morning coffee, sleeping in on a Saturday when dh has kid duty, etc)

But now I'm not in the mood lol! Thanks, blogger! Okay Kelly, calm down, relax, breathe. It's just a blog. ;-)

I seriously cannot believe it has been a MONTH since I last posted! Where has the time gone? There really is so much for me to talk about, and so many things in my life are changing right now. So much so that I am not sure if my previous plans will ever come to light. It's sort of a bittersweet time in that respect, but I will spare all the details ;)

On a happy note, Caitlin is thriving in preschool. She is only going 2 days per week, but it's been great! She is always singing new songs and bringing home the cutest scribbly drawings lol! She seems to have matured just a little bit, too. I can't believe she'll be 3 very soon.

Well, since my plans for the time being have changed, I have decided to offer my Baby Love kit for Free!! I really like this one. Lots of fun stuff. Lots of paper. An alpha set. Some painted words. There is also a cute hand drawn onesie motif paper and a quilted paper. These colors are definitely not your traditional baby colors, so this may not appeal to everyone--but I like that they are gender neutral and different from all the powder pink and blue sky blues. Our little getaway was wonderful. We had a fabulous time! We needed that. First, we checked into a hotel where there were chocolate dipped strawberries & champagne waiting for us in the room. After getting showered and ready for the evening, we strolled around Sundance Square, had mexican food, margaritas, went to a comedy club, a piano bar, then finished off the night with decaf and a dessert. Soooo nice! The next morning we went shopping and of course we had to bring home gifts for the girls. Caitlin got a realistic looking dinosaur & stick pony, and Morgan got a toy as well.

Unfortunately, we forgot the camera, so no pictures :( It's okay though. It was kind of nice not having to worry about getting some good shots for once, you know? The girls were very happy to see us, but they were both sick when we returned. Morgan is still getting over whatever bug she had, but Caitlin is doing much better. I'm sure it's because Caitlin started preschool last week--you know how kids and germs go! I'm not feeling well either, so I'll cut this post short. I've been doing lots of creating and can't wait to share with you! By the way...just as a heads up...I'll be looking for a creative team within the next few weeks...just something to think about. More details to follow later... :)

Has it really been five days since my last post? This week is just flying by. Caitlin's first day of school was Tuesday morning. Russel and I both went to drop her off. She did great! It was so quiet without her home that morning. Almost made me want to go pick her up and bring her back home! But, she is having fun, making friends, and learning new things. I just can't believe my baby girl is old enough for preschool! :(

Okay, I have to vent a little about this HEAT wave! It is getting ridiculous. Even with the A/C running all day long, I feel hot and sticky in my own house. Yesterday it was 111 degrees!! The kids don't have a summer--it's too darn hot to do anything at all outside. People die in this kind of heat! I actually packed them up and took them to the indoor playground at McDonald's yesterday to get out of the heat. ahhhhhh! Forget calgon, I'll take a super size coke, sit on a plastic chair and smell the scent of sweaty kids and dirty socks wafting through the air.... That is what it is like at those indoor playgrounds. But, I didn't care as long as it was below 90 degrees in that place (which it was, thankfully). Have I mentioned that I am ready for fall? Or winter even? Bring it on!

I'm really looking forward tomorrow. Why you ask? Well, for starters, it is Friday. But that's just the icing. Tomorrow the hubby and I get to go away for a mini 24 hr vacation. We aren't going far, but it will be nice to get out of the house and see a comedy improv show and spend some time together sans kids. Of course, they will surely find their way into our date night conversation (I wonder what Caitlin is doing? I hope Morgan is okay...Do you think they brushed her teeth?) But we'll try to keep it to a minimum because it's rare that we get out alone. This is sort of a late anniversary celebration for us. :)

So, that probably means I won't be posting tomorrow or Saturday, but hopefully on Sunday I'll have some new pictures to share. Have a great weekend!!

This morning I woke up to my sweet husband cooking breakfast. Now, before you say to yourself 'awww, how nice...' continue reading: I wake up to the delicious smell of Jimmy Dean sausage cooking--mmmmm, my favorite! Coffee already brewed, biscuits in the oven, clean, sparkling kitchen.....

Wait a second, my husband is cooking.

Let me start over: Coffee already brewed, biscuits in the oven, stuff in the kitchen in disarray, cooking utensils and dishes already piling in the sink, dirty skillet with grease still on the stove lol! Well, he's not the kind of guy that cleans as he cooks, but still, the breakfast was fantastic! And I think I'll keep him ;) Even if it means I have lots to clean after one of his gourmet breakfasts.

After kitchen clean up, Morgan finally started to stir in her crib. Yes, my baby doesn't get up at the crack of dawn like most babies do. Nope, we aren't lucky. She is awake until the crack of dawn and then goes to sleep for the night, or should I say morning? In fact, last night (morning) I was up and down with her for the better part of 8 hours. At around 4 am, I could faintly hear her stirring. But she wasn't just stirring. According to daddy, she was screaming at the top of her lungs, but I was so tired it sounded like a dream. He woke and got her a bottle all by himself and got her to go back to sleep. Love him! ;) I so needed that rest. She is teething and has so much trouble getting to sleep at night and by about the 5 or 6th day of no rest, I'm exhausted. So, thanks honey for getting up with Morgan and giving me a break!

Today Caitlin might be spending the night at pa-pa and grandmom's house and then Morgan and I need to go shop for a few more new outfits for Caitlin. Laundry needs to get done. Tomorrow night is meet the teacher for Caitlin's new preschool class. Her first day is this Tuesday. She is getting excited but I don't think she really knows what she is in for! It'll be bittersweet, that first day. My baby old enough for preschool.

I was just messing around with making fuzzy things and flowers and came up with a cute wildflower. I don't really know what it is--it sort of has a dried wildflower look to it, sort of a fuzzball look too. I just thought it was cute, and I wanted to share as well. here's a little preview of some things I've been up too. I am just loving these colors and thought it would be perfect for a kit like this, and the bonus is that it is gender neutral and can go well with baby boy and baby girl photos. If you take out the baby footprints and handprints, it could certainly be used for other photos as well...this is not the entire kit, but I wanted to post a little snippet for you so you could take a peek! :)

Not much to report on the digi front--I've been doing things behind the scenes that I really want to share, but that would just spoil the surprise, now, wouldn't it? ;)

Mr. Right and I had a wonderful evening last night, albeit with both kids home lol! He did come home early from work so we could spend some time together. We didn't really do much, but it was nice to spend time together, which is all too short these days with his long hours.

Caitlin was such a sweetheart today. No melt downs, no tantrums, just a little sweet pea. It's days like this that help me through those I-want-that-and-I-want-it-now days. Moms of toddlers, you know exactly what I'm talking about don't you?

I just wanted to post a quick note, but I must get back to work now. Hopefully I can show you what I've been up too soon!!

9) Finish up stuff for dh's business that needs to get done--lots to do in that department!
10) Try to find some extra time to do a scrapbook page or two
11) Get rid of the POOP book, or at least hide it!
12) Finish putting new trim up in the kitchen

Now, maybe I should explain number 11. My daughter has a book called Everyone Poops and in true two year old fashion, she must have me read it 1000 times each day. I don't ever turn down a book reading session, because I'm glad she enjoys reading, but I seriously am sick of reading about sizes of poop, animal poop, baby poop, and all the poop in between! She is doing great on the potty training though. In fact, we went out in public for the first time yesterday without a pull up on and she did not have one accident. She was so excited to be wearing Dora underwear and she even used a public restroom for the first time. WOOHOO!

But, that book has got to go.

Well, it's Sunday and I've got laundry to do, floors to mop, and bathrooms to clean. (anyone wanna come over and help?) :)

Okay, I know I neglected my blog for a few days, but I've been so busy. I'm working to get a brand new site up and between taking care of that, caring for my sweeties, and doing the books for dh's business, it's been hard enough getting in a daily shower lol! I seriously can't believe it's Thursday already! (mental note to self: trash day--don't forget to remind hubby to bring it to the curb in the am!)

Is it really August already??

I can't believe it. I know I'm making this post on July 31st, but it's 11pm here, so close enough, right? The months are just flying by. Morgan is already 8 months old and it seems like she was a newborn just yesterday. Caitlin is already going to be three years old in just 4 short months! And, she starts two day preschool in just two weeks.

I've had one of those days today. You know where everything sort of gets on your nerves but you don't really know why? And you feel tense and stressed but you can't really put your finger on what that is all about either. Maybe I'm the only one that gets like that from time to time lol! I don't know but it feels good to sit here and type it out.

My internet was down for the better part of the day today and that just added to my already stressed out feeling. I sat down with bills in hand and couldn't get into my bank account. So I guess that will wait until tomorrow because now it's late and I really need a good sleep.

I found the jelly jar kit so now all I need to do is get it uploaded for you :) Hopefully in the next day or two. I'm also on a creating roll right now and have been doing lots of neat things that I plan to share with you soon. Crazyuniverse.com is in the works to get back up and running. I don't have a specific launch date yet or I would let you know. I will let you know when it gets closer to launch time though.

Time for me to shower and snuggle up in bed with a good book! (Even better too since I just put on brand new sheets and bought an ultra snuggly micro touch comforter. I didn't want to get out of bed this morning because it was so darn soft and comfy!)

Wow! Firstly, thanks for your comments on the new Catherine kit. I am so so happy that you like it! If you create some lo's with it (or any other of my designs) I'd love to see! :) Send me a link so I can leave you some love! I am glad I upgraded my account with 'you send it' because the previous two kits have had over 400 dls already. (um, where are my 400 comments?? LOL!) Once it reaches 500 the link will expire and I won't be re uploading for now, so if you got them, yay!

Secondly, I have recieved numerous emails and comments about the Jelly Jar kit, so I have decided to bring it back one more time as a freebie on the blog. I think I'm only going to allow for 100 dls on this one, so make sure you get here to snag it in time! I hope to have it up soon.

And now to vent for a minute! Now, before you call me out, I KNOW this was my fault but it still ticks me off! Ugh, I just did that and I was so MAD! I know I should have saved it a few times, but I was just in the zone and really on a creative dash to get this layout done. Okay, rag on! (hee!)

Let's see...what else? Oh, did you make it to that DST chat with MandaBean? Isn't that Angel Eyes kit beautiful? So many designers and so many things in that kit! I send my prayers and thoughts to Manda and her mom during this difficult time. I think it's so wonderful that the digi community supports one another like that. There were some fabulous prizes given away--and GUESS WHAT???

I won one of them! And wouldn't you know it, I am not even sure what I won because I was just excited to win something lol! Oh well, I know I'll find out in my email later, but I wish I knew what it was now ;) I answered the question about Elton John's real full name: Reginald Kenneth Dwight.

Catherine is my sister's name and since I was inspired by her and her new engagement, I decided to name my newest page kit after her. This is a nice sized kit with 13 papers (one isn't shown in the preview so if you count you will only see 12 lol!), a stitched lace heart, twill tape sentiments, two pieces of long twill tape (a full 17 inches), an ALPHA and NUMBER set (yay!), lace bows, and a couple of other little things. In sickness and health

Now I'm sick. And so is the hubby. I remember the days before children when we hardly ever got sick. Now it seems that whatever little bug hits Caitlin, it spreads to us like wildfire. It's so funny too because after about the 3rd day of not getting whatever it is, we start to get sort of smug--haha! You can't catch me, little virus!

And then it hits.

So, dh went to the doctor yesterday and I was feeling quite smug because here I am taking care of everyone, touching all the germs, wiping noses, getting coughed on, and I'm not sick.

Welp, the virus won.

At least our doctor knows us well enough to know that if one gets it, the other probably has it too, so he kindly called in medicine for me so I did not have to go in for a visit.

But, in bigger and BETTER news.....drum roll please--my sister is finally engaged!!!! WOOHOO! I'm so excited for her! (and Caitlin will get to have her first shot as a flower girl!) My sister and my future BIL are so perfect for eachother. Everyone knew it would happen, but it was like--c'mon and propose already lol!! So, they are on vacation and she called with the happy news to let me know. I must say, he is sneaky! She had no idea that it was going to happen, not even a tiny little clue. I just can't wait to see her pretty ring and get the scoop!

In honor of her new engagement, I was inspired to create something airy and wedding-ish, so when that is done it is going to be another free kit on my blog. Check back soon ;)

The girls are finally well. My house is extra clean today because hubby decided to do some de-cluttering--you know, finally getting his computer, TV, and game cords looking all nice and neat with nice little cord holders and all. He also--get this--moved his too big wide screen TV away from the wall and dusted and vaccumed back there! I know, I'm as shocked as you are ;) Go honey go!

Well, I've been a little sentimental lately, and I think it's because my sweet first born is about to start two day preschool next month, on August 15th. I'm excited for her because she is excited about it and I know that she is going to loooove it! I know I'll cry that first day though (nevermind that it's only two three hour days per week lol!) I know she'll need a small bag to bring with her and to bring things home in so I found this one from pottery barn kids. Isn't that cute?

We managed to get some cute shots of the girls yesterday, if I do say so myself! :P

Thanks for all of your comments and emails about the recent blog freebies. You are all too sweet! I am glad you like them. So the girls are doing MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better!!!! Thanks for your well wishes! Now, I wouldn't say that they are at 100% yet, but they are definitely getting there. But it's been several late nights and I'm tired. Morgan has been having mucho trouble sleeping because she can't breathe through her nose and her ear hurts, so thankfully, she is getting some rest tonight (knock on wood!). I am about to go do the same.

Tomorrow my husband is finally taking some much needed time off so we can all do something as a fam. It's hard to get him away from his business and I'm sure he'll make time to 'drop in' just to make sure no one is messing anything up lol! Well, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone for their sweet comments about the princess freebie. It makes it much more worth while to give stuff away when you know it is appreciated--so thanks!!

With that said, one of my friends noted that just because I have two girls, it doesn't mean that there aren't some cute little princes out there! ;) I know, I know...sooooo, I will be doing a companion freebie called 'little prince' for the boys! my little princesses are sick :(

There is nothing more heartbreaking than listening to your babies cough and sniffle. They are both just miserable. My 7 month old has an ear infection and chest congestion with a mean sounding cough. And Caitlin has the same yucky chest stuff going on.

I did get lots of snuggles and hugs from Caitlin today though. Too bad she has to be sick to slow down enough to give mommy some love ;) She is my little firecracker, that girl. She has to be the most active person on the planet! Not when she is sick though. Poor thing took a 3 hour nap after we returned home fromt the doctor today.

And now I can't sleep. I don't know why but lately I have not been able to get myself to sleep at a decent hour, so what do I do? I come down here and chat, scrap, go digi shopping, and basically do things I should not be doing at this hour-ha! But, I did manage to put together a new little freebie. I honestly cannot believe it has been TWO whole MONTHS since I made a post lol! I am still going to be putting the site back together, but it's on hold for a little while longer. I can't say exactly when because I don't know right now. Time is short these days with dh working so many hours.

Fit for a Jelly Jar

That's what my grandma used to say when she had little scraps of fabric left over from sewing projects. She would use them and cut them into little squares to tie off the tops of jelly jars filled with homemade jelly. (makes the jelly taste better when it's all dolled up with fabric and ribbon, don't you know? ;)

My newest creation reminded me of those old and worn fabric squares, so 'Fit for a Jelly Jar' it is! I hope you enjoy! Oral Surgery, my birthday, and an Austin trip

Did I get your attention yet? :P Yes, on Monday I went in to get 4 teeth extracted, those darn wisdom teeth. Ouch. It was actually pretty funny because I've never been 'put under' before so when the doctor started my IV and said I'd start getting sleepy, I was sitting there going...um, it's not working it's not working it's not working it's not working---oh you mean the surgery is over?? Seriously, it was like a time lapse. Weird. I felt great immediately after it was done. I couldn't feel a thing in my whole head for about an hour, but when everything started wearing off....OH MY

I have to thank my MIL for graciously offering her time and staying with me and the girls both the day of the surgery and today. I never could have done it without her. I can't remember bits and pieces of yesterday because I think I was in and out of sleep. I feel so much better today, but I'm extremely swollen. Hopefully that will start to go down by tomorrow. I feel like a chipmunk storing nuts for the winter.

Sunday was my birthday and my dear husband bought me something only a computer geek like him could love---a 19" LCD WIDESCREEN monitor. (I love it too--does that make me a geek? ;)

Tomorrow we are packing up--the girls, dh, and I--and we will be tagging along on a business trip with dh. He has a conference in Austin. Of course, my dad lives there now so we'll be visiting with him one of the days we are there. It'll be nice to go mess up a hotel room for a few days instead of constantly picking up toys off the floor over here.

So, tonight is American Idol. My TV indulgence night (not counting my TV indulgences on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday LOL!) I'm not sure who I would like to see win this time. If we are basing just by the voice, I'd probably say Katherine or Elliot, but if stage presence and entertainment value are counted, then it would by Chris or Taylor, leaning more towards Chris nowadays....

Did everyone have fun on NSD??? I didn't get a chance to do much simply because dh was working and we had to prepare for my surgery on Monday and this trip tomorrow. I did try to attend the chats over at the shabby shoppe, but alas, everyone else was already there! It was jam packed!

There's always next year, right? ;)

Well, my dear, sweet husband got me a new toy--a graphics tablet! I've never used one before, so it's going to take time to get used to but I can already tell that I'm going to LOVE it! It's so much fun. I created a little mini kit using the tablet and here is the layout I made of my now FIVE month old (today!) *sniff* Can't believe she is growing up so darn fast!!

I'm also putting this little kit up as a free download. It's exclusive to just the blog and I won't be putting it up as a permanent download on my site (it's a you send it, so when it is gone, that's it! ;)

This is just a fun little mini kit that is perfect for baby layouts---and it's a cute baby duck motif so it's great for the boys and the girls! Been a while, but...

there is a reason ;) I've been getting my computer fixed up and a new website is in the works. I've also been busy, busy, busy! (Aren't we all??) But, I'm still here and I've got some new ideas that I can't wait to start working on...plus, I still have a few things that I've been working on that will hopefully be finished soon as a mini free kit (yes, it'll be great for boy pages!!).

My great aunt passed away last week. I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Houston to visit her before she passed. I know that she is in a better place now; I have fond memories of Christmases and other holidays spent with Great Aunt Gege. She will be forever missed and loved.

After a really bad April Fool's day, all I wanted to do was have a nice Sunday, relax, and watch my recorded episode of Grey's Anatomy.

My DVR didn't record it.

Yesterday I found out that my great aunt is in the hospital and it's looking really bad. I think we are going to try to make the drive to go see her next weekend. I hope she can hang on that long. She was like a second grandma to me.

Also yesterday, I saw what I thought to be some sort of small mouse or some other small rodent run under my bed in my bedroom. Now, I do live in a smallish town--some would even call it 'the country,' but these sort of things still really freak me out. I almost didn't sleep in my own bed last night, but my dear husband searched our room high and low and assured me that whatever it was, was gone.

I hope everyone had a better weekend than I did!! :)

I'm tired and almost off to bed, but I wanted to share a tiny little preview of the [FINALLY!] boyish kit I've been working on. I know that most of the things I do are too girly for the guys, but being a mom of 2 girls, it's easy for me to get into an all-girl mode. I do, however, have a new nephew on the way (he'll be here next MONDAY!!!) and I need to get busy learning how to do some boy layouts! I hate sleep

I don't really hate it, but I hate that I need it. In fact, right now it's 12:47 am and I should be doing just that but I had to get up for a drink of water and now my eyes are wide open. And Morgan will be awake for her next feeding between 4 and 5 am. That means if I get to sleep at this exact minute, I will have 3 hours and 13 minutes to 4 hours and 13 minutes of rest before I have to be awake again. If I get to sleep at this exact minute.

Since I'm awake....

I watched Grey's Anatomy tonight. I just love that show. I hate that I get sucked into all these shows though because I feel like I already don't have enough time in the day to get everything done that needs to get done (see previous post), let alone sit down and watch them. At least there is Tivo. I can't stand to sit and watch normal television anymore. Sometimes I find myself trying to rewind songs on the radio when I'm driving in the car. Speaking of that, maybe that is a good idea for that new show 'American Inventor'--wouldn't it be cool for someone to invent something that makes it possible to rewind radio in the car?

So I have a few shows lined up that are always recorded for me:
1) American Idol (of course!)
2) Grey's Anatomy
3) Scrubs
4) Family Guy
5) Simpsons (this is for my husband)
6) American Inventor

I used to watch survivor religiously but I missed it this time. Maybe next season.

Well, it's Sunday and I didn't get a chance to do any scrappy stuff at all this week (or weekend for that matter) and it's likely that I might not have much time this week also.

Stress

Aren't you supposed to feel less stressed when you are on vacation? Technically, I am not on vacation since I'm always a sahm, but my dh took a week off from his job at the University for spring break. However, his own computer business is really stressing him out which, in turn, stresses me out. It's sort of a long story that I don't feel like boring anyone with, but I just had to say that it STINKS to be so darn stressed right now. Ugh.

It looks like I won't be doing anything creative for the next couple of days and that is my normal stress reliever. That STINKS too! Well, mabe I'll have time on Saturday, but today I have to finish some things up with the business, do some laundry, clean the house, and plan out a day that we can possibly go to the zoo, weather permitting (weather is another thing that has not been cooperating around here which means we may not get to do anything outside for the rest of the week.)

On a happier note, we were able to take Caitlin in papa's little fishing boat yesterday. She had so much fun! She cried when we got the boat out of the water because she did not want to leave. It was her very first boat ride and she loved it!

We are planning on taking Caitlin to the Lake this week and maybe to the zoo also. The weather has been nice enough lately that it should be perfect. She's never been to the lake so I think she would be amazed and have a blast! She's been to the zoo, but I don't think she remembers it, and she's old enough now to really enjoy the 'aminals.' ;)

Caitlin spent the night with the grandparents last night and they took her to Ft. Worth today for some good old fashioned spoiling ala grandma and grandpa style. You know, basically doting on her all day and giving into every little request for candy and toys and those little mechanical cars they have in the fronts of grocery stores? She had a blast! Then, Russ and I took her to the park, along with Morgan, of course. Bet she sleeps well tonight....
